This will be my last post for my blog. I check all the work I had done before printing them out. Through EIR, I really had learnt a lot of new and interesting stuff about Internet. I will apply what I have learnt here to my work.
It was a fun and enjoying module :D.

7.11.2008 [EIR Day11]

I signed up for wiki today, as a group we were asked to search and discussed related information on cyber-bullying. Then we will share our findings with the class on Wiki.

It is very meaningful to collaborate and share our finding and knowledge on Wiki as a class. We also get the chance to edit the information which had been post up on the web. Wiki is some how similar to forum, it is a place where knowledge is exchange. Except that we can edit the information others posted up there and it is displayed as a whole text, not by thread.

If I get the chance again, I would definitely use Wiki for my research. It gives us an opportunity to share and exchange information among us. It will works well if we are responsible in their contribution :D.

6.11.2008 [EIR day10]

Today we had our class test 2, this time round I only scored 9/20. Luckily I pass my test overall :D. After the test, we had a group activity. We had to assume that we were appointed as the new CEO of YouTube, and got to answer a few questions given.

Youtube is a web where it provides the user different kind of videos. The user can also get into discussion about the video by posting thread below it. To me, Youtube is more of entertaining site so far. However it also serves other purpose like looking for relevant video for my research and searching for the latest news update. It actually depends on how the user wants to use Youtube for.

In my free time I would search for videos using video Google instead. Actually, I can live without Youtube. Video Google provides me with much more videos, it has the same function like Google except this time round we are looking for video in particular.

3.11.2008 [EIR Day8] Dream Holiday~

SHOP TILL I drop in Taiwan~

If I ever get a chance to choose the location for my dream holiday, I will first visit Taiwan. Taiwan has all good food, a beautiful ocean, stupendous mountains and lots of SHOPPING areas! It is a country filled with strong traditional Chinese culture.

WHY?
I always like to shop around for clothing and accessories. In my free time, I will shop with my friends for new stuffs. It is part of my leisure activities, and it helps to kill boredom. Taiwan is in fact, a shopper's paradise and every city in the island has numerous shopping malls and alleys that sell a variety of national and international products. Taiwan will be best destination for my holiday~

All the information about Taiwan is provided from the web. I used google search engine to search for destination. I got a few relevant links from the top of the search page. The purpose of these pages is for information and business/marketing. The web provides me with information like the weather in Taiwan, their culture, attractions and more... This will prepare the user for the trip to Taiwan.

The page is setup for commercial and advertising purposes. There are lots of attractive pictures of different places in Taiwan. They also used descriptive words/sentence to describe the attractions in the country:

"From north to south, Taiwan is littered with large shopping centers and department chain stores..."
"And if you want to pick up some historic and finely crafted objects of art, then Taiwan is definitely the place to be. Want to get to know Taiwan better? Shopping here will surely enrich your travel experience."

31.10.2008 [EIR Day7]

I had my class test 1 today, I scored 12/20. I got to study harder next time XD.

In the lesson, Ms Faridah showed us 3 videos from Youtube. It was some kind of hilarious videos related to Singapore. We also check up on talkingcock.com. It was a website which discuss about political and social issue in Singapore in a funny manner. The purpose of the web was on entertainment. All the posts are written in the stand of a Singaporean.

After browsing through the web, we were asked to give our point of views on the web as the government, Singaporean and foreigner. For our group, our role given was as a Singaporean. We talk about how we felt about this web and whether we will accept this kind of joke about us on the net. Lesson today was an interesting one, I enjoyed participating in the role play and the debating session:D.
